AFS Intercultural Programs is an international, volunteer-driven, non-profit organisation with 60+ years’ experience in delivering international education programs in more than 50 countries, including China. AFS has operated in Australia since 1959 and is a trusted student exchange organisation. More than 15,000 Australians have studied and volunteered abroad through AFS programs.

As you know, AFS has worked with the Department of Education and Training in Victoria on the Victorian Young Leaders to China (VYLC) program since the programs’ inception in 2014. As a Student Exchange Organisation that is registered with the Victorian Registration and Certification Authority (VRQA), AFS also offers intercultural learning programs which meet the criteria for the VYLC Overseas Language Study Grants for 2017/2018.

Information regarding the 2017/2018 round of VYLC Overseas Language Study Grants has been released this week http://www.education.vic.gov.au/Documents/about/programs/cultures/vylcolsgappform.pdf (see also attached PDF Factsheet)
Please note that the closing date for applications in 30 June 2017.

To assist interested teachers, students and parents, AFS Australia is holding an Information Night on Wednesday 7 June 2017 at the Multicultural Hub in Melbourne between 6 and 7.30pm. During this session, AFS staff will provide details about the six-week Language and Cultural Immersion Program to China offered by AFS and departing in December 2017. This program meets the criteria for VYLC Overseas Language Study Grants for 2017/2018. Attached please find an invitation to this Information Night as well as a flyer about AFS’ six-week program to China.

We would be very grateful if you’re able to share this information with CLTAV members for them to pass through to interested students and parents (noting that students who have already participated in another VYLC program cannot apply for one of these grants). If it’s easier, we will have some information on our AFS Australia Facebook page on Friday, and this can be shared to your social media platforms as well. Please let me know if you’d like to discuss this?

To RSVP for the Information Night, please email ausafs@afs.org and include your name and contact phone number.
