PRIMARY SCHOOL'S TALENT COMPETITION

5th Chinese Talent Competition for Victorian Primary Schools

Ruyton hosted Chinese Talent Competition for Junior School Students at Royce in 2019

This year, about 120 students from 7 schools representing the three different sectors of primary school education – Independent, Catholic and Public came join us singing Chinese songs and performing drama plays in Chinese. The audience enjoyed the Chinese version of ‘We are going for a bear hunt’, Chinese dramas of ‘We choose kindness’, ‘A Chinese lesson’ and ‘Liquid, gas and solid’ etc.

Mrs Jane D’Oliveyra, Director of Middle Years at Ruyton, opened the competition for us with her story of the Great Wall. Mrs Rebecca Barker, Co-ordinator of our Junior School Music, was one of the judges. Confucius Institute of University Melbourne sponsored us with gifts for the schools and Mrs Gong Zheng, the director of the institute, and her colleague, Ms Clarissa Belanti, were the other two judeges.
